Hanging in there!

Hey everyone! One week down! The week flew by, but the last couple of days have been very tough. Chris is still without internet, and probably will be for a little while longer. He also doesn't have a phone to use yet. The guys who deployed earlier than the main body have internet because of the time frame they arrived. This includes all of my friends husbands, so it's a little frustrating hearing about all the communication they've had when I haven't had much communication with Chris. However, when I do hear from Chris it's 3am and for 5 minutes because he's using someone else's phone. I'll take what I can get!

My amazing group of friends is a huge help. We keep each other very busy. This weekend we went to Anna H.'s house, cooked dinner, and watched Season One of "True Blood." We had a blast!!!!! Chris on a stick made an appearance too!!!! I'm attaching a few pictures. Take care, and thanks for the continued support!!

Introducing.............

CHRIS ON A STICK!

One of my Destin girlfriends, Katie, put her boyfriends picture on a stick during his 5 month deployment last year. Well, we have a year to kill, so why not?? Sounds like fun! Plus it will motivate us spouses to get out, have some fun, and take lots of pictures! Plus it'll be fun for the guys to see where we've taken them :) We are fortunate to be in a company with AWESOME people. There are about six of us ladies that hang out together, especially now that the boys are gone. We take turns cooking dinner, go on gym dates (and complain the entire time), watch TV together, do pot lucks, go get margaritas, walk our dogs....when you consider what's gone on this week, it hasn't been bad at all. We are all without children, and we all have dogs. Definitely a GREAT group. Lots of fun pictures to come!!!!

March 2010...What a month!

I finally set up the blog! Our month of March was definitely a loaded one! As most of you know, we are now homeowners! The process wasn't the easiest though. After many frustrations through the offer/counter offer process, we were finally set to close on 2/26. Only to show up, and then go straight home because the sellers showed up with NO MONEY! It all worked out though in the end, and we closed the following week. Our house is 3 bedroom, 2 bath, with a formal dining room, and a big bonus room over the two car garage. Perfect size for us. The fence people come next week to do an estimate. With Chris deploying so soon, we've only unpacked what we absolutely need. I have A LOT to keep me busy this year! Chris put in a hanging pot rack and sidelight enclosed blinds before he left. I loooove them!!!
Pot rack: I still gotta pretty it up. I just threw stuff up there for now.

Sidelight blinds = privacy!!!!

Our new house!

We moved in two days after we closed. Since it's an in town job, we thought it would be easy. WRONG! It took forever to move from the huge rental house to our smaller house. One Saturday we went to the rental to make another run, and we found the back door kicked in and the dining room window busted with a brick. Nothing appeared to be missing, but it was scary. We had a fancy alarm system put in the new place, so I feel really safe here :) Look for moving announcements in the mail!

Last weekend I found a growth on Casey. She was sleeping, and I was checking inside her mouth because I knew it was about time for another dental. She moved as I was holding her cheek, and it exposed the back of her cheek. I saw a white, pedunculated cauliflower like growth the size of a pea. We got really worried. They removed it Monday morning, sent it off to the lab to be tested, and Friday we found out it was benign. Whew!

It's been a very stressful and busy month! Chris left me with these the evening before he left...

He's the sweetest, and I miss him already! I'll keep ya'll posted!
